ruangrupa, a collective from Jakarta, is the Artistic Director of documenta fifteen, which will take place from 18 June until 25 September 2022 in Kassel. Artistic Team members Reza Afisina, Iswanto Hartono, and Ayşe Güleç will talk about the practice of lumbung, which is the Indonesian word for a rice barn and a common practice for sharing surplus resources. This will lead us to examine howlumbungrelates to documenta fifteen.

ruangrupa, ein Kollektiv aus Jakarta, ist der künstlerische Leiter der documenta fünfzehn, die vom 18. Juni bis 25. September 2022 in Kassel stattfinden wird. Die Mitglieder des künstlerischen Teams Reza Afisina, Iswanto Hartono und Ayşe Güleç werden über die Praxis des Lumbung sprechen, das indonesische Wort für Reisscheune und eine gängige Praxis zum Teilen überschüssiger Ressourcen. Im Anschluss daran werden wir untersuchen, wie Lumbung mit der documenta fünfzehn zusammenhängt.


This conversation is part of the project “Scalability of the Collective”, acollaboration between students from the Academy of Fine Arts Munich and theLebanese Academy of Fine Arts – University of Balamand in Beirut under the direction of Joseph Rustom and Sandra Schäfer. Students from the “Scalability of the Collective” project will participate in a workshop on composting knowledge with Ayşe Güleç and ruangrupa on the following day.

Dieses Gespräch ist Teil des Projekts "Skalierbarkeit des Kollektivs", einer Zusammenarbeit zwischen Studierenden der Akademie der Bildenden Künste München und der Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts - University of Balamand in Beirut unter der Leitung von Joseph Rustom und Sandra Schäfer. Studierende des Projekts "Scalability of the Collective" werden am folgenden Tag an einem Workshop zum Thema Kompostierungswissen mit Ayşe Güleç und ruangrupa teilnehmen.
