Opposite the entrance to the Old Distillery is a large hollow in the wall, far up, hardly visible at first glance, but quite large. It is a testimony to the fact that the Old Distillery was not always an exhibition space, a trace of the past. But: what has formed this hollow?

Several hemispheres are lined up on the wall below the large hollow, a ladder leaning next to it. A building site - work is being done here. Effort, strain, time spent and the question: What is worth preserving?

The negative space of the hollow becomes a sculptural form. The materials plaster and papier-mâché are used to fill gaps and holes. They are lighter than the material they pretend to be.

Moulding, adaptation. There is no perfect copy. A void is created when something is missing. The gap between reality and replica remains.

Gegenüber des Eingangs der Alten Brennerei ist eine große Kuhle in der Wand, weit oben, auf den ersten Blick kaum zu sehen, aber ziemlich groß. Sie ist ein Zeugnis davon, dass die Alte Brennerei nicht immer ein Ausstellungsraum war, eine Spur der Vergangenheit. Aber: Was hat diese Kuhle geformt?

Mehrere Halbkugeln sind unterhalb der großen Kuhle an der Wand aufgereiht, daneben lehnt eine Leiter. Eine Baustelle - hier wird gearbeitet. Mühe, Anstrengung, Zeitaufwand und die Frage: Was ist erhaltenswert?

Der negative Raum der Kuhle wird zur skulpturalen Form. Die Materialien Gips und Pappmaché werden benutzt, um Lücken und Löcher auszufüllen. Sie sind leichter als das Material, welches sie vorgeben zu sein.

Abformung, Anpassung. Es gibt keine perfekte Kopie. Ein Hohlraum entsteht, wenn etwas fehlt. Der Zwischenraum zwischen Realität und Nachbau bleibt.
