Idealform extends the medial framework of the previously created work Winkelzählprobe by a space-consuming installation in variable settability. This work was exhibited publicly for the first time at the curated Freiflächen of the 2022 annual exhibition in the new building of the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich.
In a matrix of equal distances and angles, growth sheaths, from a manufacturer dominating the Ebersberg forest, are positioned in the space. The columnar quivers (readymade), polypropylene 9 x 9 x 110 cm, are stuck on one or more wooden cubes, which in their dimension, 9 x 9 x 9 cm, compressly fill the base of the growth covers. The species of wood of these cubes specifies the Douglas fir, which, resistant to an environment that has become hostile, should successively replace the spruce in forestry. As modules of growth, they pile up precisely in their form-giving housing. The minimalized presentation of the specially created plantation can be variably placed and inserted and is reminiscent of the building block principle.
Cubes slide playfully into the casings and increase the dimension of the pure yield.

Idealform erweitert den medialen Rahmen der zuvor entstanden Arbeit Winkelzählprobe um eine raumgreifende Installation in variabler Setzbarkeit. Erstmals öffentlich ausgestellt wurde diese Arbeit bei den kuratierten Freiflächen der Jahresausstellung 2022 im Neubau der Akademie der Bildenden Künste in München.

Perception and cognition alternate between the reversal of the naturalness of organic growth in forestry on the one hand and the reduction of biomass to its function as raw material on the other. A sustainable transformation from mixed forest to forest management opens up in a highly ambivalent way in this context.

The word mark of the plastic product, Die Wuchshülle, has the claim of "intelligent forest protection". On the one hand, it is the protagonist, ensuring the yield and performance of the young plant; on the other hand, it is the antagonist, counteracting with sustainable wood production through aggressive intervention in organics and diversity.
